Until 2012

The photographs have a poetic visage and at first it seems as their content is unrelated altogether since each piece creates its own world. What binds the photographs together is that in each one it appears that two worlds come together, as if two moments have been put together. Many might think that the photographs have been assembled in this way but that is not the case. Rather the photographer has, with her keen perception, captured a moment where mirrors in the environment able her to capture two pieces in one frame. This attribute gives the photographs a surreal feel and at the same time push the viewer to understand the overall picture. The viewer’s memory becomes a subject since Þórdís arranges different moments in time and space, a kind of flash poetry, where the viewer has to put the pieces together
